Default present sales scams

im glad i thought of this before i bought any. i havent tested but i was thinking of the event in cantha where players were able to fill inventory with items and when they attempted to open a present and it didnt contain gold it was then sold. im going to go get some presents and test seeing if inventory was full with no other items than candy canes and weapons(no other items contained in presents) if the single present can be opened and a cc will be added to the existing stack. until this is tested i would not reccomend any buying of presents

I think he's talking about the gift-opening exploit that came about during the dragon festival. Here's how it worked:

1: Fill inventory with whatever.
2. Grab stack of presents.
3: Open said presents
If the gift was gold, you would receive it and the present would be consumed.

If the gift was an item, you would receive an "inventory full" message, and the present would not be opened.

In this way, people filtered out all the cash presents from their stacks and sold the rest.

I think the OP is talking about people doing this to filter out candy canes, but, to be honest, I can't tell because he apparently typed this with his forehead.

It was fixed, now you can't open or salvage anything unless you have a spare inventory slot.

Any source? or is this one of those "heard from a friend of a friend of mine who heard a rumor?"
